|Goal ||sterilization project Shelter Comanesti - Romania |
Adjective to the TNR program, part of the veterinary team leaves Lebanon on June 14th, heading straight to Otopeni Airport, Bucharest - Romania. After landing the team meets up with other members of the veterinary team and the people from GOZH. The small Dutch organization, spearheaded by Gerda Vaneveld, provides logistical help to multiple Romanian organizations by sending food and reliefgoods. GOZH contacted AniMedics to see if there was a possibility to perform a small sterilization program in a shelter located in Comanesti, approximately 300km north of Bucharest.
As GOZH and AniMedics reach an agreement where they will both share the cost to run this program, it was an easy decision to do this program adjective to the project in Lebanon. The local shelter is spearheaded by Mrs. Miron, wife of the Mayor of Comanesti. It becomes clear that Comanesti is one of the most rare cities in Romania, where the municipality and the Mayor, actually try to improve welfare for stray animals and actually try to run sterilization programs. Thanks to local translators Elida and Narcis, and great accommodation provided by Mr. and Mrs. Miron, we were able to perform many sterilizations despite the fact that a staff change had to take place in between.
As a result of the achievement and goals from both the shelter and the municipality, they can always be assured on the help from our organization
